Logo Design - Existing Products and Personal Logo

Existing Logo's -

Taking the 'Coca Cola' logo for a example, they have a very simple but effective colour scheme using only two colours. Since the 1950's onwards they have used only red and white in their logo aside from the 1990's where they included a branded bottle in the logo. The logo itself is very memorable due to its simplicity in design and with it being an appropriate design towards their intended target audience, making this a very unique brand logo.

The 'KFC' logo is also a very good example as well as the 'Coca Cola' logo with its similar and simple colour scheme of black, white and red. As well as the simple colour scheme, the iconic face of 'KFC; being the founder himself Colonel Sanders. Just like 'Coca Cola', their logo has changed many times since the 1950's, and in 1991 started their iconic colour scheme. With having Colonel Sanders as the face of the brand since their beginning in the 1950's, it has allowed the audience to know what the brand sells just from associating Colonel Sanders with fried chicken, therefor increasing sales and brand identity. This then establishing the 'KFC' logo as a respected brand that has withstood time.

Logo Designs -

This is the first logo design I have made for media. I wanted it to be simple, so I only used black and white for the colour scheme. Since I wanted the logo to be simple, I used a warped circle with text and a black background. But, since it is only 2 colours, and having a black background, it would not look good on something where the background isn't black. This gives the simple design a big flaw by only being able to be used on a website or product with a black background.

I received some feedback on my logo design, this is the feedback I received:

Final Logo Design -

This, is my second and final design for my logo. Taking in the feedback I received for my first logo design, I changed some things with the logo to make very much needed improvements. I made the text all black but made it so the background is transparent. I still wanted the logo to be simple so I had my name and 'media' under the first letters of my name and 'media'. With the transparent background, the logo works well on many different colours of background, therefor making this design better than the previous design just by allowing it to be used on any background due to a transparent background. With my business card designs, it works very well on white and even grey backgrounds. Since my final choice of business card design is with a grey background, it works well with the white text and lines.
